Christmas is right around the corner and that means navigating through the public holidays and pay rates for staff.

We've complied this blog post in hopes to answer some of the questions you may have.

Given our offices are in Cairns and Maroochydore, we have concentrated this post on Queensland, however, if you do have staff in other states  - don’t hesitate to contact us!

Christmas Public Holidays

Let's not forget that the new year also welcomes public holidays including:

• New Years Day- 1st January 2022
• New Years Day (additional day) - 3rd January 2022

Christmas Rostering

We have had several questions about what the public holidays means for staff this year. So, if your employee normally works:

• A Saturday – they will get ordinary time for Saturday 25th December AND Saturday 1st January
• A Sunday – they will get ordinary time for Sunday 26th December
• A Monday – they will get ordinary time for Monday 27th December AND Monday 3rd January
• A Tuesday – they will get ordinary time for Tuesday 28th December

HR Dynamics Christmas Closure

Lastly, HR Dynamics is closing over the holidays from the 23rd December 2021 and reopens on the 4th January 2022.
