Medical Receptionist/Administrator

We are currently looking for a highly efficient and organised Medical Receptionist/Administrator to provide support to the team. This is a permanent full-time opportunity located in Cairns.

Your Key responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service and quality patient care
  • Scheduling of appointments, update and manage patient information databases
  • Answering a high volume of incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Appointment and surgical invoicing, receipting and daily bank reconciliations
  • General day to day running of clinics and ensuring the smooth operation of daily administration.
  • Facilitating hospital surgical bookings, Hospital admission/consent paperwork, providing estimates and associated paperwork to patients being offered surgery by our doctors
  • Liaising closely with all parties involved with the patient care; patients, surgeons, surgical equipment representatives, hospital and other administration staff
  • Handling mail, scanning, emailing and faxing correspondence
  • Assisting with other administrative tasks as directed

Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional Customer service experience (essential)
  • Strong computer skills and experience using multiple programs simultaneously
  • Understanding of strict patient confidentiality and Privacy
  • Empathetic and supportive nature
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Impeccable communication skills (verbal and written) and a courteous telephone manner
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient touch typing skills regarding speed and accuracy
  • An enthusiastic and positive ‘can do’ attitude

Highly Regarded:

  • Previous medical experience in a similar role
  • Dictaphone/touch typing skills
  • Genie software knowledge, experience with Mac computers
